INFRA-VIEW BOILER & BUSBAR THERMOMETERS
Infra-View is an infrared, remote sensing (non-contact), thermometer for regular temperature measurement inside boilers and furnaces, useful for boiler efficiency management. The Infra-View is supplied installed within a rugged protective air-cooled jacket that can be permanently flange mounted on any port, door or boiler penetration.
Infra-View can be supplied as a portable, handheld unit for mobile measurements and also for permanent mounting on Busbar ductwork to detect Busbar overheats before failure (click here for Busbar).
Key Features:
Temperature measurement of combustion gases upto 4500ºF (2500ºC)
Rugged case with air cooling and soot blow for low maintenance
Boiler optimisation, fireball centering, soot blowing and slag control, low NOx and FEGT monitoring
Hand-held and Busbar variants
Factory return calibration service
How it works
The Infra-View patented design is supplied installed in a rugged protective cooling jacket that is factory assembled and pre-piped with an air cooler, purging and filtering system designed to work in most severe service environments. Customer-supplied compressed air and two wire-shielded signal cable is all that is necessary for operation when integrated in a 4-20 mA signal loop supplied from a DCS, digital or analog recording device. The Infra-View®; infrared “non-contact” sensor monitors flue gas temperatures in the boiler or furnace ranging from 250°F to 3,000°F (higher-end temperature available).
Infra-View® is mounted on the boiler with an air-actuated valve held open with cooling/purge air, which springs to close on loss of plant air to protect the sensor from damage due to debris and overheating.
Infra-View® can optimize your boiler by monitoring flue gas temperatures for Startup, Sootblower and Slag Control, Low NOx, Fire Ball Centering and FEGT Monitoring.
Fixed, Continuous Temperature Monitoring
Medium: Combustion GasesTemperature Range: Up to 4,500°F (2,500 deg C) Passive Reading, Low Maintenance
Handheld Infra-View® Infrared Boiler/Furnace Thermometer comes with a sensor, carrying case, tripod, mounting bracket, and local digital readout providing loop power. Useful for taking temperatures around the boiler before, during, and after combustion optimization projects.
Busbar Monitoring Infra-View
The Infra-View® Busbar Temperature Monitor is an encapsulated infrared sensor designed with components that are able to withstand the considerable EMF generated by the iso-phase busbar.
Due to the high voltages and amperages, in excess of 24 kV/kA, the Infra-View® is mounted on the bus duct in a direct field of view to the iso-phase bus, in order to remotely measure temperatures from 0°F (-18°C) to 1,000°F (538°C)
Specifically designed for uprated generators designed to produce greater MW output
Differing iso-phase bus temperatures indicate unbalanced loads between phases
Measure iso-phase bus temperature remotely and annunciate alarms conditions
Eliminate bus failure from heat build-up generated from loose arcing connections
Used for uprated generators where copper bus work has not been upgraded to match
Measure flexible link and transformer connections
Bus Temperatures are measured to within +/- 1.0°F or C with a span from 0°F (-18°C) to 1,000° F (538°C)
Temperature data is transmitted via a loop-powered 24 VDC/4-20 mA connection directly to the control room DCS
